Barry Glantz

For 28 years, I have served my community in numerous capacities – 4 terms on the Creve Coeur City Council, 9 years on the Planning and Zoning Commission, 3 terms as Mayor of Creve Coeur, a 7-year member of the St. Louis County Building Commission, past board member of the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, and Past President of the Municipal League of Metro St. Louis.

As a continuation of my commitment to civic service, I proudly announce my candidacy for the District 2, St. Louis County Council seat in the Democratic primary election to be held on August 4, 2020.

My municipal experience is unmatched in this election.  I look forward to building upon, as well as expanding, the relationships that I have developed with other elected officials throughout the St. Louis region, and working towards the goals of providing appropriate services and reasonable policy to this district.

Experience in sound management of local government is crucial. With both the history and the experience, I recognize, first hand, the necessity for elected leaders to both understand and advocate for our region.  By building consensus and working collaboratively, it is my intention to elevate St. Louis County to a stature of which can ALL be proud!

Voters have the opportunity to elect their Council representatives based on qualifications, history, and actions.  I am the candidate who can truly say, “I have, and shall continue to!”

The heart of my community begins with family.  They motivate me to give of my time and expertise for the betterment of our region.  In turn, I hope that my sense of responsibility exemplifies the importance of becoming part of something larger than just ourselves - safeguarding what is good, while advocating for that which needs improvement.....ideals on which future generations can build and thrive.

A monthly opportunity to engage with, and listen to constituents in an informal and welcoming setting.  Coffee and doughnuts included.
